TOURIST HOT SPOT: TANJUNG ARU BEACH
The Tanjung Aru Beach is the most famous public beach in Kota Kinabalu city. Located at the end of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, it is about 6 kilometres from the city centre. Taking its name from the aru trees, the beach has plenty to offer both locals and tourist. If you enjoy local food, the food court has plenty of selection including fresh coconuts, barbecued chicken wings, fresh steamed corns, steamed peanuts, sugarcane juice and much more. It is open till late at night. There is also a bar, a number of restaurants and a park called Prince Philip Park.

The sunset view at Tanjung Aru Beach is simply breathtaking making it a must-visit when you are in Kota Kinabalu city.

From the city centre, you may opt for the following:
Bus - No 16 bus (fare is RM1.50)
Taxi - RM15 per taxi (up to four persons)
