BORNEO ECO FILM FESTIVAL (BEFF) 2013 IS BACK!

Back for its third consecutive year, The Borneo Eco Film Festival (BEFF) 2013 will be held at kompleks Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara (JKKN) Sabah from the 27th to 29th of September along with with SUARA Community Filmmaking workshops running from the 24th to 29th of September 2013.

The SUARA Community has been running activities all year long including previous filmmaking workshops. It is opened to indigenous local filmmakers. Attendance is free of charge because the BEFF is a non profit event.

The BEFF will screen a variety of exclusive premieres of local and international environmental films specially selected by the programmers I'm conjunction with other international film festivals. It aims to expand the concept of environmental cinema towards experimental rather than just traditional. Their goals are to educate, expose and engage. 

The film of this year's 'Boleh Bah Filem Kita' winner will also be showcased during the BEFF. The theme of the 'Boleh Bah Filem Kita' film making competition is how people relate to their environment. The closing date for submission has been extended from the 1st to 15th of August 2013 due to overwhelming response. Participants can email the link on YouTube or Vimeo to submissions@beff.org.my. Films must be under 10 minutes and include English subtitles if recorded in other languages.
